This year, the Students and staff of Sulamita have been seeking God for more ways to reach the outside community, being servants, like our great Lord, Jesus Christ. We have been reading much from the Bible and focusing on the Great Commission, praying for and acting on all that he calls us to (hoping that His light and love might be seen through our actions). We are growing and taking faithful leaps to help serve in any capacity God asks of us.
God continues to build, grow and mold great leaders as He equips all of us through these callings and through His teachings. We pray that our actions glorify Him. In increasing measure, we desire to display and grow in “goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love” so that we might be productive and effective for our Lord (2 Peter 1:5-7).
Sulamita Christian Service Project Goals (Homeless Youth Outreach):
There are currently over 1000 homeless youth (last count taken in February of 2016) in the Seattle area. We have been given an opportunity to continue to do as God calls all of us to do, to share with one another (as written in the book of Acts), all that we have, so that no one is in need. You can read more about the Homeless youth HERE.
We are going to be serving these youth by:
- Putting together Emergency Packs (Blessing Bag) for all of the homeless youth (basic essentials)
- Building or Raising funds to help with Shelters & Seeking Partners in this task
Fundraisers: Car Wash, Bake Sale, Garage/Donation Sale, Student Auction
- Partnering With Local Stores & Families in Donation Drives: Sleeping Bags, Hand-warmers, Scarves, Clothes
- Serving in our Community (Everett Gospel Mission and/or “Soup Service”)
“Food for the Poor” Drive – 11/11/14-12/11/14
Thank you to all of the students and families that so generously donated to Food for the Poor! I was overwhelmed by the community of giving hearts we have at Sulamita Christian School! Above is a picture of the bin of donated items students and parents dropped off at the school. God bless you all!
Throughout the school year, Sulamita Christian school participates in Community Outreach, to include helping with and organizing:
